Our only slight gripe is... you've really ruined our Dungeon 'have a horrible day' catchphrase and sentiment at the end there - so much positive energy! more. Cartimandua is the first in The Dungeon’s Yorkshire Rogues & Legends shows, a series of new shows for 2018 exploring famous characters from the county’s history who have been out of the lime light in recent years. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The actors were excellent and totally believable as the characters they portrayed. Went to the York dungeon on a long weekend stay in york.so glad we did as it surpassed everything we thought it would be ,you are taken through a series of eeerie sets where actors play out a role of either judge torturer ,executioner etc,at times quite jumpy especially when lights go on and off but mainly funny as there is lots of audience participation and interaction ,would highly recommend going its real fun,and the actors are brilliant !!! Very funny and pretty scary too!! Skip the standard group tours and enjoy an alternative history of York during this award-winning, immersive guided tour of the city. and it was so easy to, A wonderful, highly entertaining experience with talented actors weaving horrible and fantastic yarns involving audience participation resulting in hilarious scenarios.
We do always aim to provide all our guests with a memorable experience and a highly satisfying tour - we are sorry to note your disappointment at this visit. With all due respect, unfortunately we do agree and feel that it may be best that you do not return to the Dungeon.

All the way round the dungeon there was an almost scary undercurrent and you were on edge waiting for what would happen next. Pass by top attractions—such as the Shambles and Jorvik Viking Centre—as you listen to your guide tell tales of witches, queens, and murderers that you wouldn’t hear on most other tours. Also ticket states “ no more than 9 persons will be in your tour group”, yet we had approx 20 in the group, which can be uncomfortable when you all squeeze together in little corridors & rooms.Aside from the above, it was an interesting informative and entertaining performance, played out by enthusiastic performers. It's particularly a good one for boys as it does get gruesome when they show you old instruments of torchure. I cannot recommend it enough.

The scripts we well written so the history was put across in a fun and amusing way.
