new grey knights

Full 40K sized Grey Knight armies would be reserved for extreme Daemonic incursion battles like the 1st Armageddon War.

A light against the darkness, the Grey Knights stand against the greatest threat Mankind has ever faced.

I am not incredibly familiar with the lore or the things usually operate in terms of releases, I just don't want to get into a faction thats done with getting any models at all. However, they just aren’t very good at that. That being said, it probably wont happen till next year. As others have said, we don’t really know. That said even though their kits are pretty old the models have aged pretty well compared to other factions. I agree they are less popular sale wise now and i think thats because they haven't gotten same kind of love as other factions.

[1a][1e] Each member of the chapter undergoes a gruelling and torturous selection process, and even once inducted, their harsh training regime is without equal. Remember that Codex Grey Knights was one of the very first ones out of the gate – rushed out with little fanfare in early August 2017, the month after 8th launched. With rumors of regular SM Termies getting 3Ws and Firstborn Vets getting 2Ws this suggests to me regular Termies aren't being phased out or replaced just yet and Firstborn marines might be around for another edition or two. Grey Knight forces would be tasked to go to crucial worlds and take them from whoever might be holding them, thus giving them a reason to fight non-daemons, and building new pylons (or Aqulias or whatever). Keep in mind when GK's were launched back in 5th edition they were so OP people complained and GKs got nerfed into the ground in 6th.

No idea. Grey Knights have a couple of issues, both on the tabletop and in the fluff. Grey Knight forces would be tasked to go to crucial worlds and take them from whoever might be holding them, thus giving them a reason to fight non-daemons, and building new pylons (or Aqulias or whatever).

Fixing Grey Knight: Table Top When it comes to close combat ability, and tanky-ness Adeptus Custodes have them beat hands down.

Of course all of this is academic to the real question. Grey Knight’s would be a power addition to soup lists, but even in full armies of their own, they’d be able to control what units got hit, and keep their pricey fragile units alive. Last year GW was asked on their FB page about Grey Knight Primaris marines and said there were not enough psykers in the Primaris aspirants to make them useful to the GKs. Some of the Grey Knight heavy weapons are decent, but they are also costly and lack good options to deal with heavy armor.

When 8th launched, the Deathwatch also couldn’t use Primaris models, but GW fixed that in a big way in their codex. I don't see GW keeping the smaller marine range when they make new units to sell.

They’d be an army that could ignore invulnerable saves and had decent shooting and close combat. GW rarely tosses out an entire faction.

The game is constantly changing and updating, but so are the players, and that’s part of the fun.

All of this is normal. No, the Grey Knights new quest would be to the close the Great Rift by building new Blackstone Pylons on key worlds to beat back the warp and maybe eventually close the galactic scar. I’d also bring back an old rule, The Shrouding.

Subscribe to BoLS Prime. Vigilus Ablaze introduced an interesting concept to the game that the mysterious substance known as Blackstone can either negate or amplify warp and psychic powers. Hey all, newer player here, and I was wondering, what are the chances of Grey Knights getting new models?

Lastly, the Grey Knights have a bit of a Fluff issue. 10:00 - Battle Practice. But on the other hand, while I think the specific Primaris units we’ve seen so far should not be given to Grey Knights, the concept of Primaris Grey Knights is a winner.

We've got one of the smallest model ranges in the whole game, but there are factions way older than us that desperately need new models (Eldar, Guard, World Eaters, even Tyranids). During the Shooting phase enemy models can only shoot this unit if it is the closest visible target.

Cawl didn't reengineer all space marine implants, he just added new steps to the process. This should be an ability that all Infantry and Dreadnoughts get in an all Grey Knight Detachment and would say: During the Shooting phase enemy models can only shoot this unit if it is the closest visible target.

Let’s be honest – it’s a thin excuse and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them show up one way or the other in time. When it comes to elite shooting and rapid deployment, Death Watch does it better. Rites of Banishment:Every one of your units save for your transports and purifiers have this (purifiers and Crowe get their own 3", 1d6 mortal wounds). I’ve been playing 40k for 3-4 years now and my armies are still evolving.

Where will we be in 5 years time.

GW has struggled with this balance a lot. GW don't give much of a road map for future releases. Subscribe to BoLS Prime. If you are into their lore and like their models and want to start collecting them, i would say a safe purchase would terminator models. Another major issue Grey Knights have is that in general, for whatever they do, someone else does it better, which is not a good place to be for an elite army.
