Great work Simon - I've always suspected that there must be big wall sections under those buildings but never got around to asking. Beginning at the Tower of London and rounding off by the Museum of London, this 2.8-kilometre route allows you to learn about the city wall which was built by the Romans, and in doing so, absorb a part of London’s history. At first glance it would be easy to think that there's not much of those walls remaining, but a little investigation turns up an amazing amount, from street names like London Wall, Houndsditch, Barbican, Aldgate, Bishopsgate, Moorgate, Newgate, Ludgate and more, and huge surviving sections of wall at Tower hill and the Barbican.
